Man in hospital after being hit by train between Crewe and Newark Castle
A man is in hospital with 'non-life threatening injuries' after being hit by a train - on the Crewe to Newark Castle line.
East Midlands Railway reported a man had been hit by a train at Uttoxeter around 6.40pm on Tuesday 25 April - 37 minutes after leaving Crewe.
British Transport Police issued an update after the man was taken to hospital with 'non-life threatening injuries.'
Police confirmed the incident is not being treated as suspicious.
A British Transport Police spokesperson said: "Officers were called to the line in Uttoxeter at 6.16pm following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended and a man was taken to hospital where he is receiving treatment for what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
"The incident is not being treated as suspicious."
Following Tuesday's incident, replacement buses were provided for train stations between Crewe and Derby.
People were advised to use alternate services. The situation was cleared up by Wednesday 26 April.
