Man charged with sexual assault following incident in South Cheshire

Cheshire Police have charged a local man with one count of sexual assault and three counts of assault by beating, following reports of an incident in South Cheshire.

On Wednesday 13 December, officers were called to reports of a distressed neighbour at an address in Nantwich.

At around 11.30pm, Officers attended the scene, arresting a man who was known to the victim on suspicion of assault.

Following questioning, Paul Whitehurst has since been charged with three counts of assault by beating and one count of sexual assault.

Paul Whitehurst, 52, is set to appear at Chester Crown Court at a later date (Cheshire Police).

The 52-year-old of Barony Road, Nantwich, appeared at Warrington Magistrates Court on Saturday 16 December.

He was released on conditional bail and is set to appear at Chester Crown Court at a later date.
