Man charged with drink driving after BMW witnessed being 'poorly' steered in Crewe
A man has been charged with drink driving in Crewe, after his BMW was pulled over in the town for being steered in a "poor manner."
On Saturday 6 April, Cheshire Police witnessed a black Three Series being driven erratically on Broad Street.
At around 5:45pm, officers pulled over the vehicle, requesting the driver to take a roadside breath test.
The driver of the BMW blew 58, well over the legal limit of 35, and was arrested at the scene.
Imran Basha Momin, 31, from Church Field Close, provided an evidential breath reading of 87ug whilst in police custody.
Momin has since been charged with driving whilst exceeding the prescribed limit.
The Crewe resident has been bailed to appear at Crewe Magistrates' Court on Tuesday 7 May.
On Saturday 6 April, at roughly 5.45pm, Crewe Response Team performed a traffic stop on a black BMW 3 Series on Broad Street, after the vehicle was seen driving in a poor manner.
"A roadside breath test was performed on the driver, who provided a reading of 58ug (the legal limit is 35 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath). He was subsequently arrested.
"Imran Basha Momin, 31, from Church Field Close, has been charged with driving whilst exceeding the prescribed limit.
"He provided an evidential breath reading of 87ug whilst in custody and has been bailed to appear at Crewe Magistrates' Court on Tuesday 7 May.
