Man charged following police chase and garden wall crash in Crewe

A Crewe man has been charged with dangerous driving and failing to stop for police, after crashing into a garden wall in the town.

On Tuesday 6 February, Cheshire Police were involved in a high speed chase with a Citroen C1 in Crewe.

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle on Gresty Road, but it made off at speed 'dangerously overtaking.'

The Citroen C1 crashed into a garden wall on Fuller Drive, taking out a street sign and a BT box (Nub News).

Shortly after this incident, officers received reports of a collision on Fuller Drive.

At around 9:08pm, officers arrived at the scene, discovering the Citroen had collided with the garden wall of a property, also hitting a BT box.

The driver drove off from the scene, with police tracing the vehicle down to an address on Beechcroft Avenue. 

Adam Brierley, 22 from Crewe, has since been charged and will appear in court on Thursday 22 February.

A number of local residents reported their WIFI went down following the Fuller Drive collision (Nub News).

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "On Tuesday 6 February in the evening hours, a vehicle was sighted by beat officers swerving across the road.

"Officers attempted to stop the vehicle on Gresty Road, but it made off at speed dangerously overtaking.

The Citroen C1 was later located, and further information came to light that it had also been involved in a collision.

"The male driver was later located and arrested.

"Adam Brierley, 22 from Crewe has been charged with dangerous driving and failing to stop for police.
