Man arrested following attempted burglary on Crewe street

A man has been arrested following an attempted burglary on a street in Crewe.

In the early hours of 7 July, police received reports of an intruder trying to break into a commercial building near Earle Street. Patrols were dispatched to the area but the offender fled on foot.

Officers used CCTV to track down a male hiding in the town centre and arrested him.

Cheshire Police used CCTV to track down the man hiding in Crewe town centre (SWNS).

The man, believed to be from Surrey, was arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary.

A vehicle was also located and seized for being used in crime and the investigation is continuing.
