A man has been arrested at Crewe Railway Station for possession of a Class B drug with intent to supply - following a police suitcase search.

The incident happened shortly after 12pm on Tuesday 6 June - with British Transport Police on patrol at Crewe station.

Officers with dogs stopped a 28-year-old man about to board a train to Glasgow.

A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cannabis (Ryan Parker).

They searched his suitcase and found a "significant amount of cannabis."

The man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply the Class B drug.

He was taken to police custody. Officers with dogs also searched the Glasgow train for drugs.

On Wednesday 7 June, British Transport Police confirmed the incident to Nub News.

A spokesperson said: "Officers on patrol at Crewe station shortly after noon on 6 June, stopped a 28-year-old man.

The 28-year-old man was taken to police custody by British Transport Police. Officers with dogs also searched the Glasgow train for drugs (Wikimedia Commons).

"A search of the suitcase he was carrying revealed a significant amount of cannabis.

"He has been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a class B drug and taken to police custody."
