Man arrested at Crewe station after police find drugs in suitcase
A man has been arrested at Crewe Railway Station for possession of a Class B drug with intent to supply - following a police suitcase search.
The incident happened shortly after 12pm on Tuesday 6 June - with British Transport Police on patrol at Crewe station.
Officers with dogs stopped a 28-year-old man about to board a train to Glasgow.
They searched his suitcase and found a "significant amount of cannabis."
The man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply the Class B drug.
He was taken to police custody. Officers with dogs also searched the Glasgow train for drugs.
On Wednesday 7 June, British Transport Police confirmed the incident to Nub News.
A spokesperson said: "Officers on patrol at Crewe station shortly after noon on 6 June, stopped a 28-year-old man.
"A search of the suitcase he was carrying revealed a significant amount of cannabis.
"He has been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a class B drug and taken to police custody."
