A man has been arrested after a suspected arson in Crewe last week.

And police are investigating a second incident, while they determine whether the two are linked.

At around 10.25pm on Thursday (July 27) officers and Cheshire Fire and Rescue were called to Rolls Avenue where a blue Ford Focus was fully alight.

Crewe Police said it was a "deliberate ignition", and a male has since been arrested on suspicion of arson.

Then at 3am on Saturday (July 29) another vehicle fire on Marshfield Avenue was reported.

"Officers attended and a Vauxhall astra was fully ablaze," a force spokesperson said.

"Footage shows a person covering the car in a liquid before setting it on fire.

"It is not known if these 2x arsons are linked at this time."

Both investigations are still ongoing
