Man arrested after woman pushed down stairs at Crewe address

A disqualified driver has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting a woman at a West End address in Crewe, allegedly pushing her down the stairs.

On Friday 14 July, Cheshire Police officers were called to reports of an 'assault in progress' at an address off Underwood Lane.

At around 9pm, officers arrived at the scene to find a male had fled the scene after allegedly assaulting a female and pushing her down the stairs.

The alleged assault of a woman took place at an address off Underwood Lane (Ryan Parker).

Officers went on the search for the man, finding him close to Fallowfield Court.

The man, from Bolton, Greater Manchester, was arrested on suspicion of assault.

Further police enquires found the man had driven to Crewe in a car taken without consent.

He was also already disqualified from driving.

The man was arrested for all three offences, with the stolen vehicle being recovered.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "Patrol officers were dispatched to the West end after calls of an 'assault in progress' at an address, just off Underwood Lane.  

"Patrol officers then attended the address and a male had fled the property after assaulting a female.

"This included pushing her down the stairs.

"Officers searched the area and managed to track him down near to Fallowfield Court.

"The male from the Bolton area was arrested on suspicion of assault. 

After fleeing the scene, Cheshire Police officers found the man close to Fallowfield Court (Google).

"Further enquiries showed the car he had driven down in was taken without consent and he was also a disqualified driver.

"He was arrested for all three offences and the vehicle was recovered.

"Officers ensured the ongoing safeguarding of the brave female involved, including further support."
