Man, 54, banned from Crewe retail park over shoplifting reports
By Ryan Parker 22nd Jan 2026
A Cheshire man has been banned from Crewe's main retail park for three years, following persistent shoplifting offences.
Paul Whitney appeared at Crewe Magistrates' Court on Monday 19 January, where he was handed a three-year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) following reports of shoplifting.
Under the order, the 54-year-old must not enter Grand Junction Retail Park in Crewe and must also not be in possession of any open containers of alcohol in a public place.
If Whitney fails to comply with the requirements, he will be committing a criminal offence for which he could be sent to prison or ordered to pay a fine.
Inspector Dan Welch, of Crewe LPU, said: "I am grateful officers have been successful in securing this CBO and I hope it will deter any further behaviour in the future.
"Safeguarding our local businesses from retail-related crime and anti-social behaviour is one of our priorities and CBOs are one of the options available to us to crack down on offending.
"Anyone who encounters Whitney breaching the restrictions of his order is urged to contact Cheshire Police through our website or call 101 to report it."
