Major UK retailer to close Crewe town centre store - 17 months after retail park opening
By Ryan Parker 18th Oct 2026
A major UK health and beauty retailer is closing its Crewe town centre store, just 17 months after opening a new 6,500 sq. ft store on the town's main retail park.
Superdrug shutters its branch within The Market Shopping Centre on Saturday 24 October.
This news comes after Superdug launched on Grand Junction Retail Park in May 2025, offering customers access to its "largest range" of health and beauty products, everyday toiletries, beauty treatments, and fragrances.
The new store, located 0.4 miles away, offers a bigger selection of cosmetics and beauty services, including lashes, nails and piercings.
Creating 22 jobs, the store offers an extensive beauty offering, featuring Superdrug's own-brand cosmetics range, Studio London, as well as other best-selling ranges such as B. Skin, Me+, Vitamin E, and Optimum.

The retail park shop also features its very own Beauty Studio area, where shoppers can access professional treatments.
Superdrug's Market Shopping Centre closure comes after Three vacated its unit to merge with Vodafone, Market Street, as part of its nationwide integration of the two businesses in September.
In more positive news for the shopping centre, Argos is returning after six years to take on the former Iceland unit. It is expected to open before Christmas.
A Superdrug spokesperson told Nub News: "While we're unable to provide a formal comment, we can confirm the store at The Market Shopping Centre in Crewe, Cheshire is closing.
"The Grand Junction Retail Park store (which is 0.4 miles away), will not be affected and remain open."
