Major roads in Crewe are closed during day for one week, allowing carriageway repairs to take place.

Coppenhall Lane and West Street, from the junction of Middlewich Road, to the junction of Grasmere Avenue, is closed from 9.30am to 3.30pm until Monday 2 March.

This closure is necessary for Cheshire East Highways to carry out machine patching works.

Vehicular access maintained for emergency services and residents where possible.

Pedestrian access to any premises situated within the temporary closure will be maintained at all times, with cyclists required to dismount.

The alternative route will be via: West Street, Vernon Way, Earle Street Roundabout, Earle Street, Manchester Bridge, Macon Way and Nantwich Road Roundabout.

It then continues via Nantwich Road, Crewe Road, Nantwich Bypass, A530 Roundabout and Middlewich Road.

As a result of these closures, the number 85 D&G bus service will not serve Sunnybank Road, Halton Drive and Marshfield Drive during this period.
