A major road on the edge of Crewe town centre is closed one-way until July, as works for the new Crewe Youth Zone continue.

Oak Street, from the junction of Edleston Road/Wistaston Road, is closed going towards Oak Street Roundabout until the end of Friday 3 July.

The alternative route will be via Wistaston Road, Dunwoody Way, West Street, Vernon Way, Earle Street Roundabout, Vernon Way Roundabout and vice versa.

This road closure allows kerbing, surfacing and paving works to take place for OnSide's £8.3 million development, titled 'The Dome.'

Located on the former Oak Street Car Park site, The Dome Youth Zone will soft launch in September 2026 (Photo: OnSide).

Thomas Contracting Ltd is carrying out the works, with Crewe Youth Zone targeted to soft launch this September.

The facility will undergo its building fit-out from July through to August before welcoming the community.

Located on the former Oak Street Car Park site, The Dome Youth Zone will be run by a team of dedicated, skilled youth workers.

This vibrant, purpose-built space for Crewe's young people will be packed with state-of-the-art facilities.

The emergency phone number for Thomas Contracting is 07584027476.
