A "major" Crewe road is set to close for five days this January, allowing a junction to be resurfaced close to Grand Junction Retail Park.

Earle Street, between the junction of Vernon Way and Grand Junction Retail Park Roundabout, will be closed in both directions from 9:30am on Monday 22 January.

These roadworks allow the resurfacing of Earle Street/ Rainbow Street junction.

Motorists will need to access Grand Junction Retail Park from Queen Street or Manchester Bridge, between 9:30am and 3:30pm for five days (Ryan Parker).

Earle Street is estimated to be closed between 9:30am and 3:30pm until Friday 26 January.

A diversion will be in place, with motorists needing to access Grand Junction Retail Park from Queen Street or Manchester Bridge.

A Traffic Direct Ltd letter to local residents and business owners read: "We are writing to inform you of major roadworks that will commence on January 22 for approximately a five-day period.

The five-day roadworks allow the resurfacing of Earle Street/ Rainbow Street junction (Ryan Parker).

"Earle Street will be closed in both directions, from the junction of Vernon Way, to the roundabout at Grand Junction Retail Park.

"Access will still be available to the retail park via a diversion.

"Works will start at 9:30am until approximately 3:30pm daily (22 January to 26 January).

Earle Street will be closed in both directions from Vernon Way to Grand Junction Retail Park Roundabout (Ryan Parker).

"The reason for the works is to resurface the junction of Earle Street/ Rainbow Street.

"We would like to apologise for any inconvenience this may cause."
