Swansway Motor Group has recently donated £17,000 to their newly established food bank partners - following a new donation this month (January).

Donations to St Paul's Pantry, Hightown and Sandbach Foodbank were made on behalf of Swansway's Crewe-based retailers.

This included: Crewe Audi, Crewe SEAT, Crewe Volkswagen, Swansway Jaguar Crewe, Motor Match Crewe and its Head Office operations.

Working closely with St Paul's Pantry, located on Hightown and Sandbach Foodbank on Wesley Avenue, Sandbach, Swansway has recently donated a total of £2,500 to each (Swansway Motor Group).

Swansway's charity efforts have seen them give back to the communities where they do business and this campaign aimed to support families and children who have been heavily impacted by the cost-of-living crisis.

When Swansway first reached out to the foodbanks in September 2022, it immediately became clear that they were experiencing an unprecedented level of demand for their services, something that they expected to worsen over the following months.

After its initial donation of £1,000 in October 2022 - Swansway Motor Group recognised the need for continued support.

This led them to make a second donation of £1,500 - working closely with St Paul's Pantry and Sandbach Foodbank to tailor the donation to their needs.

Facilitating the donations in December and January, Swansway's hope was to support their foodbank partners during the winter months.

In 2022, St Paul's Pantry distributed food to nearly 3000 people, representing just over 1,300 households in the area.

They received 3.6 tonnes of food donations and distributed 36.4 tonnes to those in need of crisis food.

St Paul's Pantry services manager, Alexia Stockton, told Nub News: "We are so grateful for Swansway's tremendous support, their recent donations will provide much-needed crisis food for those in our local community."

Swansway Motor Group director, David Smyth, was happy to read out to local food banks again.

He said: "After reaching out to these foodbanks last year and learning of the demand that they are experiencing, we decided that it was important to us all at Swansway to support our newly established partners going into the winter months."
