A major British telecommunications company has work "underway" to bring its services to "homes and businesses" across Crewe.

This July, Virgin Media has been working on bringing gigabit broadband services to Crewe.

Founded in 2007, Virgin provides telephone, television and internet services across the UK.

Currently, Virgin Media has no presence in Crewe, with this set to change in the coming months (Wikimedia Commons).

Work has been taking place in the CW2 area of town, in and around Nantwich Road.

Virgin has confirmed it will be bringing its services to homes and businesses across the town.

An announcement on Virgin's plans for Crewe is expected to be released in the near future.

A Virgin Media spokesperson told Nub News "Work is underway to bring our gigabit broadband services to homes and businesses in Crewe.

"We will announce more about our plans in due course."
