HOMES in Crewe got into the Halloween spirit despite Covid-19 restrictions.

Most trick or treating and Halloween parties were curtailed this year to reduce the spread of infection, but there were still many imaginative and colourful ghoulish displays around town on Saturday night.

They were all a spooky sight, including this property (pictured) on Broad Street with its abandoned car, pumpkin ghost, huge spider, multiple window projections as well as Halloween music.

On the Wistaston Brook estate there were numerous intricately-carved pumpkins and homes in Derwent Close in Willaston joined in the fun with ghosts, ghouls, body parts in wheelbarrows and a pumpkin sculpture.

While on Murrayfield Drive in Wistaston the Halloween display included mutant ninja turtle pumpkins.

In Shavington there was a 'Pumpkin Heroes Trail' with different walkable trails to follow though the village to reveal a hidden message.

The annual window displays at Blitz Fireworks on Hightown in Crewe provided a terrifying touch too.

And local community radio station The Cat broadcast Halloween music special's during their 'At the Movies' and 'Essential 80's Spooktacular Party!' shows.

Meanwhile, Cheshire East Council-owned Ansa Environmental Services Ltd have requested that pumpkins are recycled into the food waste caddy this year.
