Local man charged with drink driving after Range Rover stopped in Crewe
A local man has been charged with drink driving and will attend Crewe court next month, after being way over three times the legal limit.
On Monday 11 March, Cheshire Police received reports of a driver potentially being intoxicated in Crewe.
At around 3:40pm, officers pulled over a black Range Rover on Crewe Road, Shavington.
Ian John Tomlinson, 54, from Newcastle Road, Blakelow, provided a sample of 126, almost four times the limit.
The South Cheshire has been charged with driving whilst exceeding the prescribed limit.
Tomlinson will appear at Crewe Magistrates' Court on Tuesday 2 April.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "A male from Nantwich has been charged after drink driving in Shavington.
"On Monday 11 March around 3.40pm, officers from the Roads and Crime Unit performed a traffic stop on a black Range Rover on Crewe Road, Shavington, after receiving a report about the driver potentially being intoxicated.
"RCU Officers performed a roadside breath test on the driver, and the male provided a significant positive sample. He was subsequently arrested.
"Ian John Tomlinson, 54, from Newcastle Road, Blakelow, has been charged with driving whilst exceeding the prescribed limit.
"He provided a sample of 126 with the legal limit being 35.
"He is due to appear at Crewe Magistrates' Court on Tuesday 2 April."
