TWO businessmen have opened up their second Covid-19 vaccination centre to help with the expansion of jab services in the Crewe area.

In January this year Roger Morris, owner of the Crewe Honda Centre, loaned half the floor space of his showroom in West Street to the NHS.

Roger worked with his long-time friend, Raj Patel, owner of Hollowood Chemists across the road from the motorbike dealership, along with colleagues and friends to convert the space.

The centre was approved by NHS England and Cheshire CCG and is now one of the most successful vaccination centres in the North West with over 20,000 vaccinations thus far.

Roger declined to take any rent for the use of his showroom as a gesture to help the local community in the fight against the pandemic.

Now Roger and Raj have teamed up again to open a second vaccination centre at the Acacia Suite (Masonic Hall Willaston)

The centre, on Wybunbury Road in Willaston, has been set up and approved for use and is due to open on Saturday (May 15).

Roger explained: "Raj told me at the end of April that he had been asked to open another Covid vaccination centre.

"I am a director and shareholder of the Acacia Suite so I was able to secure this superb venue.

"The other directors also all agreed that we would donate the use of the hall free of charge for vaccinations to support Raj and the NHS.

"I am sure it will be a great success and make it easier for the local population to receive their vaccinations."
