Emergency services have responded to a serious collision in Crewe, after a pedestrian was hit by a car.

On Friday 9 February, Cheshire Police received reports of an incident on Crewe Road/Nantwich Road, by BP petrol station.

At 10:09am, emergency services arrived at the scene, discovering a man had been hit by a car.

Nantwich Road/Crewe Road is closed in both directions between Manor Way and Broughton Lane (Ryan Parker).

Officers closed off Nantwich Road/Crewe Road in both directions for motorists and pedestrians, between Manor Way and Broughton Lane.

The man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "At 10.09am on Friday 9 February, officers on patrol in Crewe came across a collision on Nantwich Road.

"The incident involved a car and a pedestrian.

"Paramedics were in attendance at the scene and the male pedestrian was taken to hospital.

Two ambulances were seen leaving the scene at 10:45am (Ryan Parker).

"Nantwich Road is currently closed in both directions between Manor Way and Broughton Lane."

The section of road is expected to be closed for most of the day.
