UPDATE: Libyan man remanded following sexual assault outside Crewe asylum hotel

Cheshire Police have charged a Libyan man with sexual assault, following an incident outside The Royal Hotel in Crewe.
Taha Derwish, of Nantwich Road, was arrested on Wednesday 24 September, following an incident involving a teenage girl.
The 25-year-old, who is of Libyan nationality, has since been charged with sexual touching.

He was remanded in custody and appeared at Chester Magistrates' Court on Friday 26 September.
Derwesh has since been remanded to appear at Chester Crown Court on Friday 24 October.
The man is currently appealing a refused asylum application and had been staying at The Royal Hotel, the court heard.
Cheshire Constabulary and the Crown Prosecution Service reminds all concerned that criminal proceedings against Derwish are now active and that he has a right to a fair trial.
