Kind-hearted Crewe mum lights up house with huge Christmas display for charity

A kind-hearted Crewe mum has lit up her house with a huge Christmas display - raising money towards a young people's charity.

Maria Connell has transformed her Merlin Way house and garden into a Christmas light spectacular.

The Crewe mum-of-four is running the Christmas dimply for third consecutive year running - spreading joy and Christmas cheer to children and adults.

Maria Connell's display has a variety of inflatable figures including Father Christmas, Snowmen, a Gingerbread Man, and a Soldier (Ryan Parker).

Miss Connell has dressing the front of her house and garden with an assortment of assortment of beautifully illuminated decorations.

Her house frontage and lawn now resembles a Winter wonderland with hundreds of multicoloured LED lights, Candy canes, Christmas parcels and Santa's workshop.

The Crewe mum's display has a variety of inflatable figures including Father Christmas, Snowmen, a Gingerbread Man, and a Soldier.

Miss Connell's display was switched-on, on Thursday 1 December. It will run from 5pm to 8pm each evening until Tuesday 3 January, 2023.

The Christmas enthusiast adds new decorations each year - planning next year's display to be even larger in scale.

Miss Connell has a money box this year for donations to the Jon Shaw Foundation, which can be paid online via GoFundMe HERE.

The Jon Shaw Foundation aims to help young people with epilepsy live safely and independently, and to make life a little easier for bereaved siblings and close friends.

Miss Connell said: "I hope my display brings Christmas cheer to families.

During the Halloween month of October this year, Miss Connell also setup her annual 'Spooky Garden' at the front of her house.

The Crewe mum generously gave out sweet cones to children trick-or-treating.

She had people travelling from all over the county to see her display.
