This week's role is one that offers a great chance to play a part in the rejuvenation of Crewe's Market Hall when it reopens next month.
After a £3 million investment the historic building has had a refit inside and out and a host of "foodie" businesses have been signed up for stalls.
An entertainments stage has been built and street furniture placed ready to welcome market-goers to a music and events-orientated experience, a somewhat change in emphasis on the traditional British market hall.
To assist with that Market Asset Management, the new operators of the Market Hall, are seeking to recruit a senior operative to organise the events programme.
The successful applicant will take a lead role in the programming of evening and speciality entertainment and promote the market using social media.
Reporting in to the venue manager and regional management team he or she will need to be able to work evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays as required.
Previous experience in a supervisory role is preferable, but not essential.
Duties include:
- Facilitate all operations at the Market Hall, outdoor market and events, including the collection and processing of rent payments.- Supervise a team of staff and work with third-party suppliers such as security and maintenance.
- Monitor health and safety across the estate.- Be the first point of contact for traders across Crewe Market.
- Plan, organise and deliver a programme of events throughout the year.- Assist in the organisation of a weekly schedule of entertainment in the designated event space.
- Undertake promotion and marketing for the venue. Person Specification includes:- Experience of supervising a team.
- Customer service-focused and passionate about high-quality customer experience.- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Experience in hospitality and leisure, ideally in a supervisory role.- Confident with social media, taking photos and communicating with customers.
- Daily communication with the social media and PR team- Flexible and able to work on evenings and weekends as required.
- Passionate about food retail and catering and dedicated to supporting small businesses. The salary for the role is £20,800 and to apply go here.
