TODAY is Cheshire Day, a chance to celebrate all the great things about our county and our local neighbourhoods.
Cheshire Day takes place on March 30 to mark the day way back in 1300 that the earliest surviving Cheshire Magna Carta was issued.
Visit Cheshire, the organisers of today's virtual event, are encouraging local residents to share their favourite walks, attractions, businesses and views on social media, using the hashtag #CheshireDay
They also want people to:
- Share what they love about Cheshire (and any new lockdown discoveries)!
- Tell them when you are planning to reopen (and what we can look forward to) if you are a local business.
- Highlight any hidden gems on our doorstep in the Crewe area
- Enjoying a meal made with local Cheshire produce and uploading photos of this on social media.
What is your favourite thing about Crewe? And what about Cheshire? Are you proud too say you come from Cheshire?
What's your Cheshire knowledge like? Here's a quick quiz that might test it. Answers will be posted up later today.
- What's the name of the castle in the picture above that used to be a tourist attraction in Crewe and Nantwich Borough?
- Which one of these places is not in Cheshire. Burland, Hooton, Church Lawton, Sealand, Disley or Crewe-by-Farndon?
- What is Cheshire's highest peak?
- Which of the county's non-league football clubs played at the Central Ground?
- Which one of these places used to be in Cheshire. Buxton, Alderley Edge, Malpas or Bebington?
