A RISING talent in the world of country music is heading for Crewe Market Hall on Friday evening as part of her international tour.

Swedish country singer Ellinor Springstrike has been making waves on the country circuit having linked up with Nashville producer and singer/songwriter Jimmy Ritchey.

Ritchey has helped develop the careers of US artists like Jake Owen, Sam Hunt, Greg Bates and William Michael Morgan. He first came across the singer after discovering his own Swedish heritage from a Christmas gift DNA kit.

That prompted him to investigate the country music scene in Sweden and he went on to produce Ellinor's current EP, which includes the songs 'It's Never Too Late' (see the above You Tube clip) and the single 'Good Love'.

With a large social media following of over 117,000 followers on Facebook, the Swede even boasts her own merchandise with t-shirts and water bottles.

She headlines a three-and-a-half hour-long country music show at the Market Hall, which will see the likes of Gareth Nugent, Emilia Quinn Music, A Million Ashes and Paul Taylor support.

The free admission event starts at 7pm and is the latest among the Hall's packed varied schedule, which this weekend also includes a Saturday night show from a Cheshire-based rockabilly band, Bobcat Billy's Moonshine Mission.
