AMATEUR photographers are being invited to showcase their work in Crewe's Lumen Lights Display

They are being invited to submit their favourite photos of Crewe from the past or present into a competition run by Crewe Town Council.

The winning entries will be printed up and displayed in large light-boxes on Market Square during the lights festival, which this year because of Covid-19 restrictions is being staged as a town centre art and lights trail between November 27 and December 12.

Competition organisers will choose 30 photos from those submitted and have urged: "One of them might be yours so get snapping, celebrate our town and remember a brilliant 2020 Lumen Crewe.

"Rays of light through a window, the sun shining on a favourite place, a shop display window, memories of a previous event, street lights, or a rainbow on a wall.

"We are looking for interesting and exciting images – really LOOK at what is around you and get creative with your camera.

"You do not need any special equipment or fancy cameras – what matters is what you see through the lens."

Images submitted should be either of a special place in Crewe or about the town or its people.

Up to 10 entries are permitted and not have been previously sold or licensed for commercial use.

Images should be at least 1MB in size and can be straight off a camera, a digitally-manipulated image or an abstract photo of light.

The competition closes on midnight October 31 and the 'Submit Photos Here' form here should be used.
