TWO Crewe pubs are taking part in an initiative offering a free pint for their regulars during October.

'Here's to the Pub - grab a free drink in October ' is being run by the promotional web site Great British Pubs in a bid to stimulate trade during difficult times.

Many local hostelries have taken a hit during the pandemic with trade down after the grand re-opening of 'Super Saturday' on July 4.

The government's 'Eat Out to Help Out' discount meals and drinks offer has helped boost trade in eateries as well as drinking establishments, but that drew to a close at the end of August.

Several new offers aimed at boosting the High Street, including Fiver Fest, have come in its wake and now 'Here's to the Pub' hopes to entice more customers through bar doors, provided, of course, they are following Covid-19 guidelines.

The Crewe pubs taking part are the Kings Arms on Earle Street and The Captain Webb on Underwood Lane.

For those travelling a bit further afield, the Princes Feathers on Station Road in Winsford and the Top House in Wharton Road, also in Winsford, are also serving free pints all this month.

Great British Pubs says: "During this unprecedented time major changes have happened and we've seen communities rally round to support each other and keep each other safe and at the centre of these communities is the pub.

"So this October we want to celebrate you and your hard work and help you continue to support your local by offering you a free drink each week during October."

The offer runs up until October 29 and drinkers need to download a voucher from the Great British Pubs site to enjoy their free pint. That entitles them to one free drink a week at the named pub on the voucher.

Each venue also has a maximum of 100 free drinks available on a first come, first served basis.
