Huge 'accessible' fitness facility reopens in Crewe town centre following new redevelopment
A huge 'accessible' 100-station fitness suite has reopened in Crewe town centre - following a new redevelopment taking over four weeks to complete.
Everybody Health and Leisure officially reopened Crewe Lifestyle Centre's contemporary gym facility, Moss Square, at 6am today (December 12).
Work for the revamped gym officially commenced on Thursday (November 10) - closing for 32 days.
The Crewe town centre gym underwent a complete refurbishment - with new state-of-the-art technology, techno-gym equipment, new gym additions and a full re-decoration.
Fitness experience manager, Victoria Barker, was delighted with the gym's official re-opening.
The fitness instructor told Nub News: "It's been an amazing chance to offer something really comprehensive for fitness in Crewe.
"All the equipment we've got tries to accommodate for everything and everyone. It's more assessible.
"It's lovely just to be able to offer such a massive range.
"We want to get people confident in the gym if they're not used to it.
"There will be group fitness classes to help people feel more comfortable here and get them into our other equipment.
"A lot of this is about educating people about fitness. We have a massive emphasis on strength training here."
Everybody Health and Leisure's brand new fitness suite includes new areas, such as cardio, resistance, free-weights, omnia rig and a new stretching area.
The contemporary suite aims to create an improved fitness experience for all members.
Victoria said: "This is such an accessible centre in Crewe - it's very easy to get to.
"It is one of the most high-spec gyms in the local area.
"To be able to offer this at such an accessible rate is really important and hopefully will have a massive impact on the town.
"The gym is huge but not so huge that is feels people are top of each other. Its beautifully spaced-out.
"Its really exciting to be able to bring this 100-station gym to Crewe. You couldn't get better equipment than this.
"All equipment is in sync. You can log your entire workout around it all."
Despite opening at 6am, the regenerated Crewe gym facility was busy from the first minute.
Local resident, Andy from Nantwich, came to the gym when it re-opened to try out the new equipment.
He told Nub News: "It's got a great finish. They've put a lot of effort into the design.
"The machines are also well laid out so people aren't on top of each other.
"It takes a little bit of time to get used to but its nice to have fresh new equipment and I'm one of the first to use it."
Andy has been a regular user of Crewe Lifestyle Centre's gym facility since 2017.
He believes the new fitness investment will attract more customers from across Cheshire.
Andy added: "I've been coming to this gym for five years. I went to the Nantwich gym while this was closed.
"This gym is a lot bigger than the one in Nantwich.
"I've been looking to the new equipment - it's great to get back in here training again."
