Gull rescued after being caught in line at Crewe fishery

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service have rescued a gull after it was caught in a line - located at a Crewe fishery.

The incident at Winterley Pool Fishery, Crewe Road, Haslington, happened at 4:18pm on Thursday (December 1).

A gull got caught in a fishing line close to the embankment.

One fire engine from Crewe with support of Swift Water Rescue - arrived at the scene.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service rescued the gull and handed it over to the RSPCA.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "There was a gull stuck in a fishing line close to the embankment in Crewe.

"Firefighters were able to rescue the Gull with the support of the swift water rescue.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service rescued the gull and handed it over to the RSPCA (Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service).

"The Gull was then handed over to the RSPCA."
