Crewe firefighters tackled a serious house fire in South Cheshire - taking place while the homeowners were away from the property.

Two fire engines from Crewe quickly arrived at the scene - tackling the blaze.

Crewe firefighters used a hose reel jet to put out the flames.

There was nobody inside the property when the house fire broke out.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "The ground floor kitchen of a domestic property on King Street was involved in fire.

"Crews in breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to tackle the incident, and a high pressure fan to clear smoke.
