Global tobacco and vaping company unveils £7.8m refurb in Crewe
A global tobacco and vaping company has completed a £7.8m refurbishment of its national distribution centre in Crewe.
Japan Tobacco International (JTI) unveiled its new design at Virginia House, Weston Road, this January, drawing inspiration from Japanese design principles.
The new Crewe workspace boasts 32 meeting rooms, a gym, yoga studio with weekly classes, wellbeing room, multi-faith room, parenting room and tech-free relaxation space.
Further additions to the centre include sit-stand desks and ergonomic chairs.
JTI's Crewe site employs 70 people and a further 50 people through outsourced roles.
It originally opened in 1994 under Gallagher Ltd, becoming part of JTI in 2007.
The centre, which now handles the distribution of all JTI products within the UK (around 12,000 annually), including tobacco brands Benson & Hedges, Mayfair, Nordic Spirit and Ploom products.
Director at JTI Crewe, Laura Bailes, said: "The redesigned space reflects our vision for the future of work, promoting agility, collaboration and a strong 'one-team' culture.
"We have created an environment where our employees can thrive, with dedicated wellbeing spaces, modern amenities and a design that inspires innovation."
