GCSE Results Day: Crewe high school celebrates best results in its history

Students and staff at The Oaks Academy,part of The Learning Partnership, are celebrating the best GCSE results in their history.

The Oaks Academy, Buchan Grove said: "The entire school community is immensely proud of students' achievements, which reflect their hard work, effort and ambitions.

"This year The Oaks Academy had a higher proportion of students than the national average who chose the English Baccalaureate route, meaning they studied challenging GCSEs, including a Modern Foreign Language (MFL).

"The commitment and dedication shown by teachers has ensured that students are well prepared for their next challenges.  

"The Oaks Academy students will all now be moving onto their next phase of education, including A Levels, vocational education and further education. 

"The school's results over recent years exemplify its drive to deliver the highest possible standards and outcomes for young people in the local community.

"The school has made a concerted effort to take pride in their accomplishments."

While all students at Oaks Academy well, there have been some standout individual performances. These include:

  • Sami, senior student leader, who successfully achieved 7-9 across the board including 8 and 9 in Maths, Statistics, Science and Business Studies.   
  • Lewis and Leo who achieved 2 grades above their prior attainment at primary school. This is a fantastic achievement.  
  • Alex, Gabriel, Dominika, Gabriela, Jacob, Gabriel, Michal, Liam have all achieved Grade 9s. 

Headteacher at The Oaks, Peter Kingdom, told Nub News: "I am proud of all our pupils for their personal achievements this academic year.

"I am thankful for the dedication of all colleagues who have gone above and beyond to support year 11 with extra intervention and revision sessions.

"The school has gone through a period of transformation following our recent 'Good' Ofsted grading.

"I am confident the school will continue to grow to achieve our vision of academic excellence for all."
