Funding approved for new play equipment at playing field in Crewe
Families with children under six in Crewe are set to get brand new play equipment, thanks to a £23k grant from FCC Communities Foundation and a contribution from Weston and Crewe Green Parish Council.
The £23,325.92 will be used to buy and install play equipment at the Weston Village Playing Field in Mere Road, Weston.
Chair of the Trustees of Weston Village Playing Field, John Chambers, told Nub News: "This project will provide a real boost to the people of Weston.
"It is fantastic FCC Communities Foundation has awarded us this money and we are really looking forward to our play equipment taking shape over the next year."
FCC Communities Foundation is a not-for-profit business awarding grants for community projects through the Landfill Communities Fund.
FCC Communities Foundation senior grant manager, Richard Smith, said: "We are delighted to be supporting the installation of the new play equipment at Weston Village Playing Field and pleased our funding will provide such a fantastic facility for children and young families.
"FCC Communities Foundation is always happy to consider grant applications for projects that make a difference to local communities and we are really looking forward to seeing this one take shape soon."
John Chambers hopes the Weston play equipment will be ready to use by summer 2025.
