A free agent has joined Crewe Alex FC's training as the management team attempts to strengthen their squad, following a growing injury list.
The Alex have a large number of players out through injury, with the recruitment team working on potential singings who are without a club.
Jack Powell (knee), Zac Williams (ankle), Matus Holicek (groin) and Owen Lunt (back) remain unavailable for the foreseeable future.
Joel Tabiner currently has an ankle problem and is targeting a return for a home encounter with Doncaster Rovers on Saturday 25 November.
Elliott Nevitt is also in the treatment room after picking up a thigh strain during the 2-2 FA Cup draw with Derby County.
With transfers and loans are not permitted until January, clubs can still still unattached players, like a midfield player currently training with Crewe.
Crewe Alex assistant manager, Ryan Dicker, told the club's website: "We've got one that's come through the door this week.
"He's not played much football in the last few weeks so he's catching up with some physical elements of the game.
"We will see how things develop over the next couple of weeks and where it goes.
"We are working on it but any new player has to be right for the team on and off the pitch - the right character and personality.
"We have to be confident in what they will add to the group we've already got. We have to think about how long they have been out for, is it due to injuries?
"And we also have to consider our finances. We have to balance things across the board and make sure it's the right fit for everybody."
Chris Long (quad) and Tracey (hamstring) are in a race against time to be fit for Crewe's big clash at home to Notts County on Saturday 11 November.
Charlie Finney returned to training this Thursday and may be involved in some capacity.
