Police arrest Cheshire man on suspicion of 'sex offences'

A Cheshire man has been arrested on suspicion of "sex offences," with local social media reporting him to be a former Crewe primary school teacher.

On Thursday 3 August, Cheshire Police were called to address in Betchton, Sandbach.

At 4:45pm, officers arrived at the scene, arresting a 45-year-old man on suspicion of attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity.

The 45-year-old Cheshire resident is currently in police custody, assisting officers with their enquiries (Cheshire Police).

A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "At 4.45pm on Thursday 3 August, police were called to an address in Betchton, Sandbach, to arrest a man on suspicion of sex offences.

"Officers attended and arrested a 45-year-old man from Betchton on suspicion of attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity. 

"He is currently in police custody assisting police with their enquiries."

The man was caught by a Child Online Safety Team decoy who told him they were underage.
