A former Crewe pub empty since 2024 has been sold for £225k, with the site earmarked for a residential development.
The Duke of Bridgwater, Wistaston Road, had been up for sale for freehold offers in the region of £275,000, with a deal now reached.
Sold by Everald Cole, the three-storey detached property, dating back to the 1880s, sits on the edge of Crewe town centre.
The ground floor footprint of the property is sized at 2,029 sq ft, with the overall site measuring 0.199 acres.

After visiting the site, the beer garden to the rear of the venue has since been levelled, with high fencing placed around the side.
No plans have yet been submitted for the former pub, despite some work being undertaken.
Former landlord of the Duke of Bridgewater, Ant Sherratt, who runs Albert's Corner with his wife Hazel, is saddened Crewe has lost another pub.
He told Nub News: "Me and Hazel ran the place for almost three years.
"It's a shame and a total waste of yet another Crewe pub. Before long, there won't be any left around here."
