A former Crewe nail shop which opened in 2005 has been approved for a conversion to a flat - located close to the town centre.

Plans to covert the former Beautiful Nails, Body & Soul shop, Earle Street, to a domestic flat was approved by Cheshire East Council on Tuesday (December 6).

The site relates to the first floor of a property above Clarke Co Hair Design - accessed off Earle Street.

An initial application for the conversion from retail to residential was refused in July (Google).

No new built form is proposed for development - therefore not impacting Earle Street in terms of design.

A Cheshire East case officer was happy with the flat conversion proposals.

"It is considered that the proposal is of an acceptable design that would have minimal impact upon the amenities of the surrounding residential properties.

"The proposal would comply with the above-mentioned local policies contained within the Borough of Crewe and Nantwich Local Plan 2011, the Cheshire East Local Plan Strategy, as well as the National Planning Policy Framework, and Site Allocations and Development Policies Document.

"As such, the proposal is considered to be acceptable and is therefore recommended for approval subject to conditions."

A new tanning and beauty salon has been approved on Earle Street (Ryan Parker).

Clarke Co Hair Design, Earle Street, will not be affected by the residential conversion.
