A Crewe food manufacturer has invested £600,000 in a new cookie production line as demand for premium sweet treats continues to grow.

Compleat Foodservice, part of The Compleat Food Group, has installed the new production line at its Weston Road site, increasing its overall cookie production capacity by more than 30 per cent.

The investment will allow the company to manufacture larger, filled and more premium cookies, alongside products featuring a wider range of ingredients and recipes.

Compleat Foodservice, which already supplies cookies to major UK retailers and quick-service restaurant brands, says it expects its premium cookie business to grow by almost a third in value by March 2027.

The new production line has been designed to produce higher-specification products while giving the business greater flexibility to develop bespoke recipes and formats at speed.

Commercial Director for Compleat Foodservice, Helen Bowyer, said: "As specialists in sweet bakery, we're seeing significant demand for more premium, indulgent and visually impactful cookies.

"Our customers are looking for support to bring these higher-quality products to market, and this investment allows us to do exactly that, enhancing both our capability and capacity to produce cookies that deliver on exceptional taste, texture and appearance.

"It complements our existing offering, enabling us to support customers across a broad range of formats and quality tiers, while continuing to evolve in line with consumer trends and supporting our wider growth strategy in sweet bakery."
