A juvenile has been arrested after reports of balaclava-wearing youths on e-bikes causing issues in Crewe town centre at 3am.

On Tuesday 4 August, Cheshire Police were alerted to reports of fireworks being set off, with disorder in the area.

Response officers tracked down one of the youths, seizing his e-bike.

A search found weapons including a hammer, with the juvenile arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "Another juvenile was arrested in the early hours this morning (4 August) after reports of balaclava-wearing youths on e-bikes causing issues."

The arrest follows another incident involving a group of balaclava-wearing youths in Crewe town centre earlier in the week (3 August).

Officers received reports of criminal damage to vehicles and members of the public being threatened.

The group fled the area, but response patrol officers later located them and chased down one of the main perpetrators.

He was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and possession of a firework.

Further checks found he was also in breach of a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO), after wearing a face covering in public and being present in Crewe town centre.
