Firefighters tackle two deliberate Crewe blazes in 24 hours
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to two deliberate fires in Crewe over the weekend - with both incidents taking place just over 24 hours apart.
The first incident involved a large blaze on Electricity Street - reported at 1:14pm on Saturday (July 2).
One fire engine from Crewe arrived at the scene - discovering a large number of pallets on fire.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "A large fire involving pallets, which is believed to have been deliberately set, was extinguished by firefighters using a hose reel.
"The fire was unattended when the crew arrived."
Deliberate fires on Electricity Street are becoming a common occurrence.
On Saturday (June 4), Crewe firefighters were called to small deliberate fire at a disused building.
Just over 24 hours after the deliberate Electricity Street fire this weekend, firefighters were called to Broad Street yesterday (July 3) at 1:45pm.
One fire engine from Crewe arrived at the scene - discovering a small blaze involving waste.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "A small refuse fire is believed to have been started deliberately.
"The crew put out the fire and informed police of the incident."
