Firefighters rush to Crewe house blaze caused by 'overheated reptile tank'
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service rushed to a serious house blaze in Crewe - believed to have been started by an 'overheated reptile tank.'
The incident on Eleanor Close, off West Street, happened at 4:30pm on Friday 14 April.
Two fire engines from Crewe quickly arrived at the scene - finding smoke coming from a first floor bedroom.
Crews used two seats of breathing apparatus, a hose reel jet, a large fan and a covering jet to extinguish the fire.
Everyone inside the Crewe property was accounted for with no injuries.
The house blaze is believed to have been started by a snake heat lamp.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Firefighters were called to a house fire where smoke was seen to be coming from a first-floor bedroom.
"Crews used two sets of breathing apparatus, a hose reel jet, a large fan and a covering jet to extinguish the fire.
"Everyone inside the property was accounted for.
"The fire is believed to have been started by an overheated reptile tank."
