Firefighters rush to commercial building blaze in Crewe town centre
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service rushed to a commercial building blaze in Crewe town centre - believed to have been started by a tumble dryer.
The incident on High Street, Crewe town centre, happened at 2:02pm on Sunday 26 March.
One fire engine from Crewe and one from Alsager quickly arrived at the scene - assessing the situation.
Firefighters used a hose reel jet to extinguish the flames.
A large fan was used to clear smoke from the property.
Firefighters believe the blaze started from the tumble dryer.
No one was injured in the incident.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Firefighters were called out to a fire in a commercial building in Crewe.
"The fire is believed to have involved a tumble dryer.
"Crews wore breathing apparatus and used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
"A large fan was used to clear smoke from the property. All persons were accounted for."
This incident happened in between two deliberate fires in Crewe.
On Friday 24 March, arsonists targeted a domestic garage building on Buchan Grove.
On Sunday 26 March, arsonists targeted a disused building on Franklyn Avenue.
Cheshire Police is appealing anyone who has information on these Crewe incidents to report it via its website.
