Air ambulance lands on Crewe roundabout following serious incident near railway station
An air ambulance landed on a roundabout in Crewe following a serious incident close to the town's railway station.
At around 12pm on Monday 27 March, North West Ambulance Service paramedics rushed to Nantwich Road/Macon Way/ Weston Road roundabout in an air ambulance - with support from Cheshire Police.
The air ambulance was called following a serious incident off Macon way.
Cheshire Police officers controlled traffic as the air ambulance landed on the Crewe roundabout.
A lady was rushed to hospital in a serous condition.
On Tuesday 28 March, Cheshire Police confirmed its role in the incident to Nub News.
A spokesperson added: "An air ambulance helped to pick up a patient.
"They needed us to assist with traffic management as they were landing on a roundabout."
An ambulance and rapid response vehicle were also dispatched to help in the incident.
Paramedics rushed to help the person needing urgent medical attention.
They were quickly taken to Leighton Hospital by road ambulance.
On Tuesday 27 March, North West Ambulance Service confirmed the incident to Nub News.
A spokesperson said: "We dispatched an ambulance and rapid response vehicle to Crewe Railway Station as a patient was taken ill.
"They were then conveyed to Leighton Hospital by road ambulance."
