Firefighters conclude cause of serious Crewe takeaway blaze

An investigation into the cause of a serious Crewe takeaway fire has ended - according to Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service firefighters.

The incident inside Bria Ami Romanian Takeaway, Nantwich Road, happened at 8:14am today (September 14).

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service quickly arrived at the scene - with two fire engines from Crewe and one from Nantwich.

Following a fire investigation the cause of the fire is believed to have been accidental, caused by electrics (Ryan Parker).

Police from Cheshire Constabulary arrived to close off Nantwich Road - with neighbouring shops also evacuated.

The fire has now been put out, Nantwich Road has reopened and no casualties were reported.

At 11:55am, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service provided a final update - clarifying what caused the blaze.

A spokesperson said: "Firefighters continued to check the affected areas and there are no hotspots remaining within the affected or neighbouring properties.

"Following a fire investigation the cause of the fire is believed to have been accidental, caused by electrics.

"The crews have now handed the incident over and left the scene.
