Firefighters called to early morning Crewe house blaze after microwave fault
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service tackled an early morning Crewe house blaze - after a microwave fault caused a fire within the kitchen.
The incident on Cheyney Walk happened at 6:31am yesterday (September 12).
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service were called with two fire engines from Crewe attending the scene.
On arrival, firefighters discovered a microwave fire that had spread to the kitchen of a property.
The firefighters put out the blaze and took the microwave outside.
Neighbouring properties were checked to ensure there was no fire spread.
No one was hurt in the incident. The Crewe property suffered minor kitchen damage.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "There was a small fire in the kitchen of a Cheyney Walk property involving a microwave.
"The crews put out the fire and took the affected microwave outside.
"A high pressure fan was used to clear smoke from the kitchen and crews cut away exposed timber.
"They hot spotted neighbouring properties to make sure there was no fire spread."
