FIRE crews put out a blaze in an outbuilding at a house in Crewe this morning.

Two fire engines from Crewe Fire Station were sent to the home on Lynbrook Road at around 6.40 this morning and on arrival they found a fire in a wooden outbuilding behind the property.

The crews used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire while also deploying a short extension ladder to tackle the fire from above.

A Cheshire Fire Service spokesman said: "One casualty was treated at the scene by paramedics, they are believed to have sustained an injury to their arm while attempting to extinguish the fire."

Firefighters were at the scene for around one hour.

  • One fire crew also attended a two-vehicle collision on Dunwoody Way yesterday where two motorists needed treatment from paramedics at the scene. The conditions of the casualties is not known.
