Fire crews tackled a car blaze in Crewe on Halloween, believed to have been started by a vehicle fault.

On Saturday 31 October, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to an incident on Heron Crescent.

At 8.11am, one fire engine from Crewe arrived at the scene, discovering flames coming from the engine component of a vehicle.

Crewe firefighters used a hose reel water jet to put out the blaze.

The car sustained moderate damage, with no injuries reported.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Crews wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel water jet to put out a fire involving the engine compartment of a car."
