FIRE crews put out a blaze which engulfed a barn at Leighton last night.

Two engines from Crewe Fire Station attended the fire at agricultural premises on Middlewich Road.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said the fire involved a car inside the barn, which was well alight by the time they arrived just before 9pm.

Officers wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to put out the flames and were at the premises for around an hour and 15 minutes.

There were no reports of any injuries.
