FIREFIGHTERS were called out to tackle a blazing car in Crewe this morning (Wednesday).

One crew attended the incident on Macon Way just after 11am, near to their own fire station, where a car was well alight.

Fire officers used one hose reel jet and a dry powder extinguisher to put out the flames.

They then checked the area with a thermal imaging camera and made the vehicle safe.

No indication has been given as to the cause of the fire.
