Family pay tribute to 19-year-old woman who died in fatal M6 collision between Crewe and Sandbach

The family of a 19-year-old woman who died following a collision on the M6 between Crewe and Sandbach junctions - have paid tribute to her.

Chloe Williams, from Dudley, West Midlands, was a passenger of a Volkswagen Polo - involved in a collision with a HGV, Volkswagen Polo and Peugeot 107.

The incident occurred at approximately 5.15pm on Friday (December 2) on the M6 between junction 16 Crewe Barthomley to junction 17 at Sandbach.

Chloe Williams' family are being supported by specialist officers. and have paid tribute to her (Cheshire Constabulary).

Sadly, despite best efforts of those involved, Chloe passed away at the hospital.

A statement read: "We have lost our beautiful girl in the most tragic way.

"She was about to start her dream career and has now had all that taken away.

The incident occurred at approximately 5.15pm on Friday (December 2) on the M6 between junction 16 Crewe Barthomley to junction 17 northbound at Sandbach (Wikimedia Commons).

"We ask as a family to be allowed to grieve in private."

A 27-year-old man from Rossendale, Lancashire, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

The HGV driver has since been bailed pending further enquiries.

Officers are continuing to appeal for anyone with information or dashcam footage from around the time of the collision to come forward.
