Emergency services rush to 'deliberate ignition' of Crewe van in early hours
Emergency services rushed to a Crewe van blaze that spread to another vehicle in the early hours - believed to have been ignited deliberately.
The arson incident on Broughton Road happened at 5:20am on Monday (December 19).
One fire engine from Nantwich rushed to the scene - along with Cheshire Police officers.
Firefighters arrived to find a van fire that has spread to another vehicle.
The van fire is believed to have been ignited deliberately.
There was no damage to neighbouring properties.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Deliberate ignition is suspected to be the cause of a fire involving a van on Broughton Road.
"The fire also spread to a second vehicle. Fortunately the adjacent property was not affected and the van was not carrying any hazardous materials.
"Firefighters, one in breathing apparatus, tackled the blaze using two hose reel jets.
"Police were asked to attend and the vehicles were checked with a thermal imaging camera to ensure there were no further hotspots."
